Spring 2025 Festival Fashion: Trends Hotter Than Your Favorite Headliner 🎤🔥

'Tis the season! No, it’s not the holiday season yet (you can wipe the sweat off your forehead). This is the season for music festivals all over the country. Around this time, line-ups for your favorite music festivals are being released, and everyone is saving up for tickets to attend art and music festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, The Roots Picnic, and more. While the musical acts are top-tier on everyone’s list, we also need to consider fashion as well. Street style at music festivals always brings out the best when it comes to the looks people showcase to see their favorite artists. From the Western trend of cowboy boots and rhinestones to super laid-back styles of T-shirts and jeans, music festivalgoers know how to stand out from the crowd. If you’re looking for some inspiration to make the best-dressed list of music festival season or just want to rock a hot new style, look no further. This will be a list of some of my favorite trends, styles, and essential items you can dress up in during this music festival season.

90’s Plaid is Back in Action!

You may have seen the resurgence of ’90s plaid on the runways during the s/s 25 collections during past fashion weeks. Stepping away from its association with rich preppy looks or even punk rock aesthetics, 90s plaid is making a comeback in a cool alt-, eclectic way. Trying laying it over jeans or even trying the double skirt hack to give the outfit more volume. You can even style your plaid with knitted tops, funky T-shirts, or my personal favorite, rocking button-up plaid shirts as a ruffled skirt. The 90’s plaid look can go however you like, this is such a great look to experiment with and it can pretty much go with any style aesthetic you are feeling at the moment.

Wearable Art, Upcycle, and DIY Fashion

What's better than wearing a garment you made yourself?! With the rise of Pinterest and YouTube diy videos making a comeback, try taking something from your closet and making it a new piece. Hand screenprint T-shirts, turn old jeans into a dope new mini skirt, take a bunch of thrifted ties, and make a corset. If you can think of it, you can make it and you don’t even have to be a great sewer to do it. There are so many no-sew or limited sewing DIY fashion hacks you can do the take your wardrobe from low valleys to Mount Everest heights.

The Year of the Statement Bag

Each year, there is a new statement accessory that will take your outfit from good to fantastic, and this year is the “Bag of Personality” as WhoWhatWear would like to call it. While there are size limits to the type of bags you can bring at most festivals, why not go all out with a dope bag to put all of your festival essentials? Rock something bold, textured, and bigger than life (also something you can carry all your belongings in too). Some of my favorite handbags are scrunchie bags from Room Shop or denim handmade bags from PishPoshWorld. Of course, you can always check out cool indie brands or visit your local thrift / vintage shop to get something that is super unique and only you have!

Festival Fringe

Fringe clothing will always be an essential style when attending a music festival. Instead of the typical fringe from a brown suede vest from the style of Boho or Western trend. Fringe is getting a new look that's a lot more playful and colorful. I have been loving the knitted fringe dresses and skirts that have been littering my timeline. The fringe comeback is not just for clothing either since the fringe bangs are making a huge return as well, just ask Lady Gaga and Zendya.

No matter what style you choose, the best thing you can do is be adventurous, be comfortable, and most importantly have fun. It’s all about rocking an outfit that is unapologetically you.
