Philly Fashion Week F/W 2024 - In Reveiw

Philadelphia Fashion Week created a buzz in the city this past weekend, offering an array of fashion to explore. Celebrating its 19th year, the event in the city of brotherly love promised a grander and more spectacular season. From luxury labels like RM67, Prajje Oscar, and J Pratt to ready-to-wear brands such as Parallel and Verdict Still Out, the event showcased a wide range of styles. Notable was the inclusion of up-cycled brands like Frantic Fabrics, transforming fabric scraps into fashionable pieces for maximalists. Here are the key highlights from the weekend runway shows of Philadelphia Fashion Week.

Day one at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia featured designer Zipporaa by Ora Yancy, presenting cozy pieces with vibrant colors and bold design elements. Atelier H displayed elegant and sophisticated staple pieces suitable for any occasion. RM67 wowed the audience with a Black noir collection, ranging from sporty pieces to glamorous evening wear embellished with crystals. Andrew Nowell's menswear line showcased clean-cut denim sportswear with an edgy flair.

Day two focused on streetwear collections, offering bold and unique designs. Verdict Still Out presented striking pieces with dramatic cut-outs and a mix of fabrics like leather and denim. ChimoWild used fabrics as canvases, displaying hand-painted drawings on each garment. Prajje Oscar's collection stood out with vibrant colors, eccentric prints, and a stunning yellow mermaid gown with paint splatter and 3D effects.

Embellishments like fringe, studs, and 3D effects added depth to the collections. Denim played a significant role, with brands like Bo Scott showcasing its versatility through patchwork, fringe, and various washes.

The diversity and creativity displayed on the runway this season were truly impressive, showcasing a range of styles. With each passing season, Philly Fashion Week continues to improve, leaving anticipation high for the upcoming September season.
